The North Queensland Cowboys Mens Defence Rugby Jersey 2024 recognises the 110th anniversary of the reformation of the Australian Army’s 3rd Brigade, reformed in 1914 for service during World War I and later landing at Gallipoli.
The earthy-toned design shows Australian Army soldiers from 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment during Exercise Brolga Run 23, with artwork representing the contribution of every soldier.
The 3rd Brigade emblem sits on the neckline, reflecting the strong ties between the Brigade and the North Queensland community, with the Brigade based at Townsville’s Lavarack Barracks.
‘First Ashore’ appears on the back, taken from the 3rd Brigade emblem and linked to the Brigade’s role at Gallipoli on April 25, 1915.
